Poet of the week June 27th 2018
From the POETS team we would like to say a huge welcome to all our new members this week, we look forward to interacting with you and engaging in your poems
I have the absolute pleasure this week to celebrate the brilliantly talented Mr +Narian OneMansJourney I am pretty sure just about all of us have been lucky enough to engage with Narian on our own poetry and his, Narian a superb asset to this community and a valued member...and his poetry speaks for itself. I have shared a micro poem he wrote earlier in the week, a simple poem that has many many depths, very well crafted, Well done Narian.
To learn to love someone
without becoming attached to them.
Opens up horizons
one never imagined existed.

+Will Evans Will has been producing consistently brilliant pieces of poetry and spoken word that explores society, humanity and spirituality in a fresh, diverse and energetic way, as well as been an absolute treasure, engaging and interacting throughout the community, well done Will :)
+Gemini Carlos Gemini, has been giving us some brilliantly crafted poetry this week and it is always a pleasure and delight to engage with this brilliant poet. Thank you Gemini
+sunita hussain sunita, is a superb poet, a superb photographer and an absolute blessing to the POETS team and community. Thank you Sunita :)
+Malay Nandy is is always a pleasure to read Malay's poetry, always he takes his reader on a magnificent journey, thank you Malay, for your poetry and your presence.
+Linda J. Wolff Linda, impresses me time and time again for her poetic voice, always feisty and strong and yet her poetry has a gentle essence about it. Thank you Linda.
Shout outs to the old and the new!
Shout out time! This is to allow us to pause and pay respect to those poets taking poetry outside of the box, driving creativity into new arenas, and equally, those poets that stand proud within the poetic roots that have created the very foundations we write from today...

We have seen some fabulous shares into this category this week and so thank you very much to +Learnodo Newtonic +Elle Greco +Paul Stump and +Small Things when we share poetry that we ourselves consider to be famous we are sharing our culture and offering others the opportunity to enrich their own poetry and this is a fabulous thing!

This category allows you guys to show us different aspects of your creativity as it is very rare that we are only poets, I love this category being used as it offers great opportunities to engage at a more personal level this week shout-outs go to +ken newman +Edward Means +sunita hussain and +Eug Code . You guys have been keeping this category busy lately haven't you! A shout- out goes to the hugely talented Mr +Charlie Ricketts-Johnson and our very own +Jennifer Salinas as well as +QueenB Divine and the amazingly talented Mr +Will Evans as well as the creatively talented +Prince of Pain POP

Criteria for Poet of the Week Selection:
1. The poet has written a great and original poem.
2. The poet spends some time reading and commenting to encourage and support other members.
3. Mastery of the the language in which the poet writes is also important, although we should make some allowances in terms of spelling/grammar for people using English as a second language.
