Poet of the week

Good evening POETS

This week I have the absolute honor of celebrating the amazingly talented, wonderfully supportive and superbly encouraging +Wendy - Empathic Tigress Wendy brings new fresh rich vivid poetry to our screens, inviting us to become lost within her imagery. Well done Wendy.

OUR NURSERY RHYME ...

A soaked pillow of muffled tears
Dreams of a breathless purple past
A picture speaks of winsome years
Possibilities never destined to last

I struggled to conquer my demons,
It seemed I fought to no avail
I followed paths ruled by reason
In the hope never to bleed to fail

In my dark asylum, I'm the only one
Death made you a forgotten art
Loving the moon, To cry ‘neath Sun
Numb… falling beautifully apart

I am powerless to resist my shame
Dispensing cures for my pain
With fickle promises for tomorrow
Without a need to deal out blame

I resist the urge for useless sleeping,
Rather I yearn your familiar feeling
Mesmerised by unearthly shadows
Dancing on my bedroom's ceiling

Some say users are lowly sinners
A waste of space in their existence
Echoed by the so-called “winners”
Who point their fingers at a distance

My body writhes, I claw and bite
Like a Tigress weakened by the kill,
To keep this night, devoid of spite
Inspired to write with a poison quill

For the world must know, I am yours
Heaven knows your love is sublime,
We are a couple of perverted whores
Forever stars in our own nursery rhyme…
