Poet of the week (77)
Like a breath of poetic fresh air, this weeks Poet of the Week goes to the wonderfully talented Amber for both her poetic skill and the amazing support and encouragement that she offers her fellow poets. +Amber Hicks
:::*Dreams That Haunt My Mind*:::
Memories control my mind at rest,
Ripping emotions straight through my chest,
Why when at rest does the mind still play?
Waking with raw feelings of dismay,
Why do we dream the things we dream?
And how do we configure what they mean ?
I have dreams that haunt my mind,
What clue am I to find?
Blurred faces of people from the past,
What words had we shared very last?
Were we broken when our paths crossed?
Did we regret the gravity of things lost?
Why must we dream the things we dream?
And when will we configure what they mean?
Dreams haunt every corner of my mind,
Is there a clue here to find?
As my eyes close and drift away to sleep,
I pray my dreams I do not keep,
No more emotions in a world of no control,
No other memories that open my soul,
Because I don't know why I have these dreams?
Maybe regret is what they really mean ?
Please go dreams that haunt my mind,
There's nothing I want to find.
