Poet of the week

POET OF THE WEEK
June 13th 2018

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

This week I have the absolute honor of celebrating the wonderful +Bluslady Shourit a beautiful soul and extremely talented writer Blus has blessed our screens this week with some superb poetry as well as some skillfully written Micro-fiction. Her presence here in POETS is felt by all, a valued and appreciated member of this community, it is a pleasure to have Blus among us. The poem I have chosen to share celebrates the beauty at a soul level of the African Woman, an empowering, inspirational write. Well done Blus

The beauty of an African Woman
The image which is priceless
No matter her heavy load
She takes into her arms the Soul of Mankind
To say she is a survivor is an understatement
To say she is a nurturer is true from century to century
In this face you never see the scene behind
You only see the beauty of the African Woman
Perhaps that is all you really need to see
The essence of her is too fragile to share
Of all the natural beauties of this world
Her smile is one I cherish, as I look in the mirror
