Poet of the week

Welcome POETS community,

Poet of the week (week 66) goes to +karen hines . Congratulations Karen, very well deserved.

Candle Power

The words drip from my pen...
like so much melted wax from a waning candle.
The ones I light when I write;
Changing nuances from the smoke and
flame permeate my inner thoughts;
Casting moving shadows on the reference
books on my table;
Flickering of the flames dance in my mind,
forming words with the trailing smoke;
Words to express my feelings of the day;
Sometimes the words flow freely...other times
the stagnant air suppresses them and I find
myself snuffing out the candles....
Waiting for the inspiration to light them again.
