Every Oasis
So much of our history has been written in memories camouflaged as love
When really,
Anyone else would have clearly seen the disaster we were creating
It was great in the beginning,
(At least I think so,
After all that's happened I have to wonder how clear my thinking really is)
But like everything else,
Beginnings lead to endings
And God knows we had plenty of our own
Each ending would leave me feeling disowned and alone
And I would wonder why I always went back when I knew that this is where I would find myself,
Isolated
My heart barren and desolate
Afraid of every feminine smile
Trying to decode what her body language really means,
God I just want to give up and lock my heart away
How can I ever drink the from the waters of love again
When every oasis in this desert is poisoned.
Jack Dankof

Let The Pen Speak For PEACE: A Poetry for Peace First Anniversary Anthology Paperback compiled, edited, initiated by : +Manuelle Augustine
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1521104867/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_VDIbzbHAFP8V6
"Poetry for Peace, a literary group created, shaped and designed on April, 2016 for promoting peace is celebrating its first anniversary this month, April 2017. This global garden of poets aims at creating a worldwide environment in which every member’s pen speaks for peace. Since the day of its creation it has been a comfortable zone for lovers of peace and an open window to the creative world of poetic literature. The globe has fallen sick. What it needs right now is nothing but peace. Terrorism is the fatal virus that has infected the whole world. Terrorists who belong to no nation or no religion attack innocent people anywhere all of a sudden only to prove their existence, a satanic way to bring darkness to the world. It is not our purpose to explicate what prompt a man to become a terrorist but to stand for peace, saying that neither violence nor terrorism can lead him to his goal. A worldwide non-violent war against terrorism has been initiated by Poetry for Peace and our poetic soldiers are penning in support of it. Noble purposes pave new ways to reach the goal. Poetry for Peace’s main purpose prompted its creator to choose themes, inviting the members to write on them every month. Positive responses from eminent poets of the globe were a great contribution to the literary world. Encouraging the poets belonging to various nations to write on and advocate for peace, Poetry for Peace has come up into publishing its First anthology, ‘Let The Pen Speak For Peace’, a compilation of theme events, on the auspicious occasion of its first anniversary. The selected poems of One Hundred eminent poets from seven theme events have been included in the anthology. As the theme events are all about peace, the readers will be able to explore the world of peace that every civilized mind dreams of. Our adorable poets have expressed their feelings on ‘What is Peace?', 'A World Without Peace', Terrorism', 'Remembering 9/11', 'A Call For Peace', 'Images of Peace', and 'Let the Pen Speak for Peace.’ The anthology will give the world the key message that humanism is a must if this planet is to continue to be the ultimate shelter for rational beings. We can explore the space, we can build restaurants in Moon and Mars in near future but we must not forget that we are the children of the same Creator. People may seek and find their own ways to worship Him. We call them religions which teach us to love His children; there is no place of hatred in them. We must try to understand ourselves, scrutinizing our own activities irrespective of caste, creeds, colours, religions and geographical boundaries in order to rebuild our mindsets that can think of living in a world of peace. Hearty congratulations to the Admin Team in their extraordinary strong determination, whose unceasing efforts to make the members/Poets encouraged and motivated through the constructive comments on the poetic works submitted and published in the group wall; inspiring budding poets, in addition to the eminent poetic personalities to keep on writing. Standing always as a source of encouragement Poetry for Peace Admins has compiled and edited the anthology "Let The Pen Speak For Peace" to greet the group members and the peace lovers of the world of literature on the auspicious occasion of Poetry for Peace’s first birth anniversary. It is an utmost hope, that the readers will love to read the verses of the poets and be encouraged and be inspired to support and be a part of the Peace Advocacy through the power of the Pen..."
