Poet of the week

Happy Wednesday POET members!

What an amazingly busy week it has been, creativity has been pouring onto the page! This week we are celebrating the fantastically talented Mr +Jacob S Garcia his poetry sets the page alight in gentle hues of love and sensuality, It is a pleasure to have his words within our community and his presence within the POETS team.

Special mentions

I always love special mentions, a great opportunity to mention those poets who have been lighting up our screens over the week.

I start with our Queen of romance poetry the wonderful +Chris Frazier her poetry always has a beautiful energy drawing the reader in and her presence within the community brings joy.
Next up is the wonderfully talented +gutter punk a poetic wordsmith, Matt, crafts time and time again fresh dynamic verses taking the reader on journey upon journey and always such encouragement and support for his peers.
...and next we have +Parrot Wingate a beautiful writer, her words alway express such emotive truths, and always such beautiful encouragement and support or her peers.
Last, but not least, the multi talented Mr +Phil Hall who has been keeping our screens alight this week with humorous poetry, vivid imagery and smiles smiles smiles :)

Shout outs for the old and the new!

This week we are doing some shout outs! This is to allow us to pause and pay respect to those poets taking poetry outside of the box, driving creativity into new arenas, and equally, those poets that stand proud within the poetic roots that have created the very foundations we write from today.

Spoken word category...shout out to our lovely +Skylark Hatee and +Charlie Ricketts-Johnson you guys truly lead the way in spoken word poetry within the communities, thank you for your contributions :)

Sonnet category...shout out to our wonderful +Wendy - Empathic Tigress i'm a softy for a sonnet, an art that is dwindling with time, it is always a joy to see this beautiful form.

haiku and tanka category...shout outs to +Eva Limbach +edward means +Miss Poet Miki +Lucky Triana +Bukusai Ashagawa +Nicholas Klacsanzky you guys and ladies do so very much to keep the haiku art alive and thriving, you bless our streams with such amazing imagery and delightful snippets of depth. Thank you for your contribution to the community throughout the week.

From the POETS team, well done everyone, another amazing week of creativity spilling across keyboards, through screens and out into the big wide wilderness of life

Criteria for Poet of the Week Selection:

1. The poet has not been poet of the week recently.

2. The poet has written a great and original poem.

3. The poet spends some time reading and commenting to encourage and support other members.

4. Mastery of the the language in which the poet writes is also important, although we should make some allowances in terms of spelling/grammar for people using English as a second language.
