Poet of the week

POET OF THE WEEK  N0 9  goes to +Poet Desh for his great poetry,
his contribution to POETS, and his support of other members.
Here is a link to his poem, New Year's Eve:

New Year's Eve

On the new year's eve,
We were alone as usual,
Bored with all the nonsense
That was being catered
Though the 'idiot box'.
Switching it off, you came
To sit very close to me,
Asked with twinkling eyes,
'What will you 'cheer' to?'
Lifting up your chin,
Looking deep into your eyes,
I said,'who else other than you?'
Then kissing your eyes,
I whispered,
'Let me first drink this sparkling wine.'
Suddenly your eyes clouded.
Snuggling more closer,
You whispered:
'You sweet fool,
What will you do or I'll do
When our new year's kiss
May prove to be the last kiss?'
I could not dare to see your tears
With tearful eyes.
