Poet of the week

Poet of the week September 26th 2018

Happy Wednesday guys and gals!

This week I want to pause and celebrated the fabulous poet that is Mr +Fifi Lagachette Fifi, writes with a true talent for imagery and the courage to express vivid emotions within his poetry, he is also an absolute delight of energy, always encouraging and supportive of his peers, Fifi brings smiles with his comments, he is a true member of our community and it is an absolute pleasure to read his work and to interact with him...well done Fifi :)
(Note that Fifi offers English translation in the bottom half of his posts

Allongé...

Le sommeil se fugue,
Quand la nuit tombe.
Un bruit sourd,
Venu des étoiles.

Les rêves fusent,
Attirés dans le néant.
De ne jamais retrouver lumière,
Qui naguère éclairait ma galaxie.

Ma planète tourne à l'envers,
D'une charrue avant les bœufs.
Le sillon de mon âme,
Sans graine de plaisir.

Sur le dos d'une tortue,
Je vis au ralenti.
Petit à petit,
L'épuisement domine mon chemin.

À quoi bon dormir,
Accompagné par la nuit.
Quand demain sera,
Le même qu'aujourd'hui.

Jour et nuit,
Je songe éveillé.
Au bout de cette vie,
Je finirai par dormir.

Elongate...

Sleep runs away,
When the night falls.
A thud,
Come stars.

Dreams fuse,
Attracted into nothingness.
To never find light,
Who once illuminated my galaxy.

My planet turns upside down,
A plow before the oxen.
The furrow of my soul,
Without seed of pleasure.

On the back of a turtle,
I live in slow motion.
Step by step,
Exhaustion dominates my path.

Why sleep,
Accompanied by the night.
When will tomorrow,
The same as today.

Day and night,
I think awake.
At the end of this life,
I will end up sleeping.

Special mentions

I have a great round up this week of superb special mentions...but first let me remind everyone how to yourself noticed and considered for the Poet of the week post

1. Interact and engage with your fellow poets. We here at POETS pride ourselves on the interactive environment we offer our members but ultimately we are only as good as you are willing to engage.

2. Write great poetry!

Different ways to ensure your poem is great are...make it fresh and diverse, avoid cliches, use vivid imagery - including similes, metaphors, figurative language, use consistent language, broaden your genres, themes, topics, forms and structures and perhaps most important is edit your poem before posting

3. Comply with the communities regulations, ensure your work has a copyright, ensure you correctly give credit to any artwork/images that are not your own, ensure you type in the poem when using a blog link/image/youtube video.

Okay soooo...Special mentions. This week, I want to mention those poets who inspire us consistently, who bless our poetic minds time after time. So much talent, so much soul, so much spirit in their writing, in their support to their peers, in their encouragement of others...

+vigilant verse UK David has awesome rhyming skills! I love poetry that rhymes, it changes entirely the feel and flow of a piece of writing, and in truth you can often tell when reading the piece if the skill is natural to the poet or learned...this is a very much a natural skill to David and this gives his writing a whole new depth, if you haven't checked him out, i do totally recommend taking a second to read his stuff, you will not be disappointed

+devanshu bagga I like a poet that has courage, and Devanshu has exactly that, his poetry is superbly written with great imagery and direction of thought. It i an absolute delight to have him within our community

+Nitin Raja It is a pleasure to read Nitin's poetry, sensual and often thought provoking his imagery strong and diction well crafted. Nitin is a great source of engagement with his peers and it is our pleasure to have him here within the community

+berniboux Berniboux writes some amazing poetry, superb imagery and depth and they are without a doubt a wonderful addition to our community bringing encouragement and support to their peers...thank you, being part of our community
